The wine column was drifting several degrees warmer through the afternoon. He found the door not quite pulling shut on a settled hinge, reset it and replaced the seal. Better, though I wish the seal had been in stock.

A condenser that cannot reject heat behaves exactly like a failing compressor. Near the ocean it gets there years earlier, and the fix is usually a brush and a vacuum rather than a sealed-system repair.
Replacing an ice maker that produces hollow or half-formed cubes usually buys you a few weeks. The restriction is upstream, in a supply that is delivering less water than the control thinks it is.
Ventilation is the first appliance the beach takes apart. The noise stage is cheap to fix and the seizure stage is not, and there is usually a season or two between them.
A flat $129 diagnostic covers the visit and the diagnosis. It is credited toward the repair if you go ahead with the work.
